Cennetten bir köşe / Somewhere in heaven

Çalıştığım şirketimi çok seviyorum. Sevme nedenlerim arasında onlarca madde sayabilirim. Bu maddelerden birisi de şirketin uluslararası eğitim merkezi; Londra High Wycombe'daki 'Bradenham Manor.'

I love my Company that I work for. There are many points that I can count as reasons. One of them is the national training center; 'Bradenham Manor' in London High Wycombe.

My first visit to this center was a total shock for me. Naturally, I did not feel any need for searching the history of the neighbourhood or the building; but, when I stepped inside, I did not believe my eyes.  For someone like me, who is very curious about history and architecture, it was like a gold mine.

Manor was first built as a property belonging to the Earl of Warwick in 13th century. Later, in 16th century, Queen Elizabeth I was entertained here by Lord Windsor. Benjamin Disraeli, who became the prime minister, lived there for part of his early life. Bradenham Manor is currently leased by the National Trust to Grant Thornton UK LLP as the firm's National Training Centre.

Tarihi yapı, göz alabildiğine uzanan yemyeşil bir doğanın içinde. Bahçeye çıktığınız anda sincaplar ve tavşanlar sağa sola kaçışıyor. Bina içinde birçok alanda orjinal dekorasyon (duvar kağıtları, şömine fayansları, tavan resimleri vb) korunmuş durumda. Gece olduğunda doğal yaşamın sesinden başka hiçbirşey duymuyorsunuz.

Historical building is in the middle of a greenest natural environment. When you step into the garden, rabbits and squarrels stampede around. At several spots of the interior design, the original decoration is kept as it is (like wallpapers, fireplace tiles and ceiling paintings) At night, you hear nothing but the voices of natural life.

Bradenham Manor'un hemen önündeki St Botolph's Kilisesi ve mezarlığı ise bana Bronte Kardeşlerin roman atmosferlerini hatırlattı, Jane Eyre sandım kendimi bir süre :)

The St Botolph's Church and cemetry, just in front of the Manor, reminded me the novel atmosphere of Bronte Sisters. I imagined myself as Jane Eyre for a while :)
